Intentions or Plans...

For the few posts I've written so far, I've spent a fair amount of time writing about trading rules. When I started trading I was far more focused on things like entries, exits, and ROI; and far less interested in trading psychology and discipline. Over time, I've realized that there are MANY ways to profit in the markets, but none of them work without the proper discipline.

Today Brett Steenbarger did a great post about turning "intentions" into "plans". Brett has done some incredible work in the field of trading psychology, and this was one post that I can identify with. Creating real plans is one of the great disciplines that makes the difference in trading success. That's why I spend some much time talking about trading rules. Without them we simply have intentions. With them (assuming they are halfway decent) we have a real plan.

Good Trading...
